Several volunteer groups operate on campus, offering volunteers a chance to connect with others who share similar interests and to work within the structure of an organization. The groups are diverse in their focus (e.g., social, character building, and academic) and in the type of commitment they ask of their volunteers. With so many choices, there may be one that is right for you!

Library volunteers work with the school librarian Karen Jordan to support the operations of the library. Volunteers may help students find and check out books or work with the library inventory. For more information, contact Karen Jordan.

• The Campus Site Based Planning Committee (CSBPC) meets a few times a year to provide input on campus improvement efforts. Participation may involve reviewing the Campus Improvement Plan or helping develop/update a campus survey or providing other collaborative input toward campus improvement and family engagement. In September, parents are given the opportunity to express their interest in serving on this committee.

• Volunteers may participate in an LISD Literacy Partners program that help students improve their reading skill. This program began on the Naumann campus in 2011 and has grown to cover over 300 volunteers from dozens of faith based organizations serving about 500 students on 21 campuses. Volunteers help students achieve target reading levels by the third grade by working with them one-one-one in 15-minute sessions. For more information on this program, click here.

• Volunteers may participate in an LISD Mentor Program that pairs mentors with students who need a little more support. Volunteers may help a student with challenges such as academic achievement, character building, staying in school, or self-esteem. For more information on this program, contact Naumann counselor Korey Anderson at 512-570-5800 or click here.

PTA information on current PTA programs/events and leadership are provided on the PTA sections of this website.
